Whether we're talking about making it through eight levels, with eight sub-levels to capture the queen, or rummaging through hundreds of puzzle pieces, for the crowd that has many things to do, or has reached a certain headspace, those digital works of art will no longer due. AlphaPuzz brings an interesting approach to the gamer who needs, "just a little bit".

AlphaPuzz enters an extremely crowded gaming genre—the word puzzle. There are literally thousands of offerings, and we've covered many of them. The question then is, what does AlphaPuzz do differently? What will make you want to play that game? Well, for one, there are no timers. Two, no subscription required. Three, you only need to answer one puzzle a day—yes, you read that right: one a day. Once you solve it, that's it. See you tomorrow! but is that really it? We can explore a bit further.
Alphapuzz Starts With A Tutorial And Score Display
When you download the app, you're given a brief tutorial. Here is the premise: You are given an on-screen keyboard near the bottom of the screen and presented with rows of tiles near the top. Your job is to select a letter from the keyboard. If the letter is one of the letters in the word of the day, it will appear in the topmost row where the actual word is spelled out. The same correct letter will appear in one of the rows which displays whether or not a correct letter was selected. If you do in fact guess a letter correctly, then another field opens up. If you get all letters in one row, then you receive a point. If it waits until Row 2, then two points and so on.
"Winning" is described as guessing the word correctly with the lowest number of points, or in this case, the lowest number of moves. Make sense?

Everything is as described above. We found everything to be a mixed bag. Some puzzles were more difficult than others, and we had some instances where we were able to clock in insanely low scores.
Choosing Correct Letters Unlocks Cells On The Way To Winning
Other attempts were a complete dud on our part, but comparing scores to previous attempts made things a bit more fun. What is nice is that anticpating hungrier players, the developer included practice games. You can play as many of those as you like so that when you get to the real deal on the following day, your guessing chops can be put to the test.

We asked ourselves, "who is AlpahPuzz for"? In our heads, we came up with our own profile. For the person who wants to engage in some brain training, the busy employee who needs to kill a minute or two of downtime, or someone waiting for a stuck train to move. In other words, the likability of AlphaPuzz comes from it being low-stakes. Hours are not needed to get your gaming rush, and you can always come back to it tomorrow! We'd like to see more categories added, difficulty levels and a leader-board to make things a bit more competitive. Currently, you can share your score which is a great start. If you're looking for something you can get in and out of, AlphaPuzz is what you're looking for—educational, straightforward and fun!
