By now, if you consider yourself a word puzzle enthusiast, you’ve probably played every word search puzzle game ever released. Word Guru takes the familiar concept of searching for words and gives you 7600 levels to accomplish this. Yes, you read that correctly, over seven thousand levels! Could these be mundane repetitive word searches? The answer is no! Keep reading.
Word Guru gives you multiple ways to find words, and as expected, every level becomes increasingly difficult. Each level is unique and offers you a different way of searching for a word. The main theme is, words have to fit into the hexagon slots on the bottom or the top of the screen in a Wheel Of Fortune type fashion. Once you found all of the words in that level, you get to move onto the next.
In some levels, you draw from letter to letter to create words
Some levels require you to “draw” the word by swiping from letter to letter to form words. Other levels ask you to tap on portions of words to join them together. Each level has a theme and most of the time, you can find “bonus words”. Those are words that have little relevance to the them, but are words nonetheless. Each word find gives you more coins. Coins can be spent on hints in case you get stuck.

Things become more complicated the further you go. In subsequent levels, you have to find a few or a whole bunch of words, and as mentioned, you cannot pass go until all of the words are found. In some of the levels, that could be well over a dozen words. You will see the number of slots increase each time you advance. If you think you’ve gotten then hang of things, you’ll be hanging by a thread once you’re in deep.

Word Guru is enjoyable. Since there are so many word search games available, we’ve found ourselves putting our devices down after a few levels, but this isn’t the case with Word Guru. We liked that there is no timer, so there is no pressure to complete levels within a certain time frame, and you are allowed mistakes! The excitement comes from figuring things out. The game claims to keep your skills sharp and increase your vocabulary. We would stand by this claim, since in everyday, depending on who our circle is, we may find ourselves falling into verbal lulls. Word Guru helps you reach into the back of that brain where all of those SAT words you rarely use are stored (such is the case in later levels).
